The Filarmonico of Verona has already scheduled five shows for the season of 2017-2018

The season will start on the 17th of december 2017 with the operetta La Vedova allegra by Franz Lehár followed by La Sonnambula by Vincenzo Bellini in january. February 2018 will also be filled with shows starting on the 4th of with Otello and followed by Manon Lescaut, Le nozze di figaro, Anna Bolena and Salome –

The Theatre Filarmonico of Verona has scheduled several shows for the Opera season of 2017-2018: Otello by Giuseppe Verdi, Manon Lescaut by Giacomo Puccini, Le nozze di Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus MozartAnna Bolena  by Gaetano Donizetti and Salome  by Richard Strauss that will be staged from the 4th of February 2018 to the 27th of March 2018.

From the 17th to the 31st of December 2017 there will be the operetta La vedova allegra by Franz Lehár. It will be staged with the 2005 set of the Fondazione Arena of Verona. Gino Landi will be the director, Ivan Stefanutti the scenographer and William Orlandi the costume designer. Sergio Alapont will also debut in the core Orchestra of the Arena.

The artistic team of the Arena will stage La sonnambula by Vincenzo Bellini in Oman at the Royal Opera House Muscat with the 2007 set and the direction, scenography and costume design of Hugo de Ana. Hence the opening of the Opera season at the Filarmonico at the beginning of the New Year.

The season will open with Otello by Giuseppe Verdi on the 4th of February 2018 and it will be staged on four different dates up to the 11th of February. It will be staged with the 2013 coproduction of the Arena of Verona and of the Teatro La Fenice of Venice. Francesco Micheli will be the director, Edoardo Sanchi will work on the scenes and Silvia Aymonino will be the costume designer. This is an important event as this opera was last staged in the Teatro Filarmonico in 1990 and as Antonino Fogliani will be the orchestra director for the occasion.

Francesco Ivan Ciampa is also coming back to direct the orchestra in the Opera Manon Lescaut by Giacomo Puccini staged from the 4th to the 11th of March. It will have the 2011 set designed by Graham Vick, the scenography of Andrew Hays and the costumes by Kimm Kovac.

Le nozze di Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will follow from the 31st of March to the 8th of April.

Anna Bolena by Gaetano Donizetti will be staged from the 29th of April to the 6th of May with the 2007 set of the Fondazione Arena with the direction of Vick and scenography and costume design by Paul BrownJordi Bernàcer will perform for the first time in the Teatro Filarmonico after his successful debut in the 2017 Festival of the Arena.

Salome of Richard Strauss will be the final show of the Opera Season. It will be staged from the 20th to the 27th of May 2018 in the Teatro Filarmonico for the first time since 2000.
